Meet Boyana

Hi, I’m Boyana — a photographer, a mom of two boys, and a European who’s been calling Japan home for over a decade.

I’ve spent the last 7+ years living, loving, and photographing life in Japan — from Kyoto’s quiet charm to Osaka’s vibrant energy. With roots in Europe and a heart in Japan, I bring a unique blend of both worlds into every photo I take.

My sessions are relaxed, natural, full of laughter and authenticity. No forced smiles, no awkward poses — just beautiful, honest moments that feel like you. I help you feel comfortable, present, and free to simply enjoy the moment — while I capture the beauty in it. Most of my clients tell me they were surprised by how effortless and fun the whole experience felt. That’s my job: to make sure you don’t even realize you’re being photographed, but later you’re left with images full of life, laughter, and connection.

Whether you’re a traveler eager to remember Japan beyond postcards, or a local who wants to celebrate everyday magic — I know the best spots, the perfect light, and how to turn even the busiest day into a collection of calm, intimate, unforgettable moments.

Over the years, I’ve learned how to bring out the best in every story:

  • Families — turning the chaos of kids running around into pure, heartfelt magic.

  • Proposals — from the nervous anticipation of a young man to the raw, emotional surprise of his partner who thought it was “just a couples shoot.”

  • Cultural experiences — the pride and excitement of wearing a kimono, the joy of discovering tradition with fresh eyes.

  • Couples — capturing the spark, the laughter, and the quiet love that speaks louder than words.

  • Children their innocence, their giggles, their endless curiosity. These are the moments that slip away too quickly, and that’s why I turn them into memories you’ll treasure long after the toys are packed away

  • Weddings — the excitement, the tears, the vows whispered through trembling voices. I focus on the in-between moments — the proud glance of a father, the joyful chaos of friends, the soft touch between the couple when they think no one is watching. These are the moments that make your wedding story uniquely yours.

What I truly love is not just taking photos — but preserving emotions, stories, and the essence of who you are in that moment. My goal is for you to look at your images years from now and feel everything again: the joy, the excitement, the love, the magic.

So whether you’re visiting Japan or living here — let’s create timeless memories that look and feel like real life  only more magical.
